Crocoite

Crocoite is an uncommon mineral that occurs in oxidized lead deposits associated with chromium-bearing rocks. It was named after the Greek word krokos, meaning “saffron”, in reference to the minerals spicy red-orange color. Crystals are elongated and prismatic, and almost always striated vertically.
