Pyromorphite is a lead chlorophosphate mineral and an important member of the apatite group. It often forms bright, barrel-shaped or hexagonal crystals, typically in vivid shades of green, yellow, or brown. Well-known for its striking luster and color, Pyromorphite commonly occurs in the oxidized zones of lead deposits. Collectors prize it both for its beauty and for its association with classic localities such as Daoping Mine in China, Bunker Hill Mine in the USA, and Les Farges in France.
